The 2nd, 3rd and 5th installments had no single release event, and no exact date is published in official sources. Some outlets in January 2020 called the 4th installment the "3rd", because they counted per group of farmers. By four-month period it is the 4th.

Latest kist: 23rd installment, 20 June 2026

PIB reported on 20 June 2026 that the 23rd installment was released at Tarakeswar in Hooghly district, West Bengal, on Paschimbanga Divas. About ₹18,880 crore went to about 9.44 crore farmers, including about 2.18 crore women. The date had been announced in advance on the official PM-KISAN X account (@pmkisanofficial).

According to the same PIB backgrounder, more than ₹4.46 lakh crore has now been paid across 23 installments since the scheme began in February 2019. The 22nd installment came before it, on 13 March 2026 from Guwahati, Assam (₹18,640 crore+ to about 9.32 crore farmers).

Registration, status checks and eKYC are free on the portal; a CSC may charge a small official fee for biometric eKYC. Never pay an agent to release an installment, never share an OTP with a caller, and ignore messages with links promising a bonus or a pending payment. This guide never asks for your Aadhaar, bank details or OTP.

PM Kisan next installment: kist kab aayegi?

The honest answer: the date of the 24th installment is not officially announced. Business Standard reported on 13 October 2026 that no date had been given. Angel One has reported that October 2026 is expected, but that is only a news estimate: neither PIB nor @pmkisanofficial has confirmed any date.

What we do know is the period. The 24th installment belongs to the August to November 2026 period. Past August to November installments came on 9 August 2020, 9 August 2021, 17 October 2022, 15 November 2023, 5 October 2024 and 19 November 2025. So the timing within a period changes every year, and nobody can promise you a day.

How to find out the real date

  1. Watch press releases from PIB (pib.gov.in). Release dates are announced there.
  2. Follow the official PM-KISAN X account, @pmkisanofficial. The 23rd date was posted there before the event.
  3. Open the official PM Kisan portal (pmkisan.gov.in). Note that its news section can lag; on 16 October 2026 it still showed the 22nd installment as the latest item.
  4. After the release, check your own payment through Know Your Status.

Ignore videos and messages that give a fixed date before the government does. Use only official .gov.in addresses, never pay anyone who promises to "release" your kist, and never share an OTP.

The three four-month periods

A PIB presentation of 24 February 2020 sets out the installment periods. Each financial year has three, and one ₹2,000 kist is due in each:

  • April to July (1 April to 31 July): 23rd installment of 2026 fell here.
  • August to November (1 August to 30 November): the 24th installment falls here.
  • December to March (1 December to 31 March): for example the 22nd installment, paid in March 2026.

The scheme took effect from 1 December 2018, so the very first period was 1 December 2018 to 31 March 2019. A farmer approved late in a period can still be paid for that period later, which is why final totals grow after release day.

21st installment: early release in some states

The 21st installment (August to November 2025) was not paid on one day for everyone. All India Radio reported two early releases before the main event:

  • 26 September 2025: Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan released it early for flood and landslide hit Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttarakhand: ₹540 crore+ to 27 lakh+ farmers.
  • 7 October 2025: Jammu and Kashmir, ₹171 crore to 8.55 lakh farmers.

The main release for the rest of India followed on 19 November 2025 from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. So if you searched "pm kisan 21th installment date", the answer depends on your state.

Final totals per installment (11th to 19th)

Release-day numbers are only the first payment run. A Lok Sabha answer of 1 April 2025 gave the final figures, which include arrears and late approvals paid in the same period:

Why some farmers miss a kist

Government statements (Lok Sabha, 4 February 2025; PIB, 20 June 2026) list three must-haves before any payment:

  • Land records seeded on the portal (Land Seeding: Yes).
  • Bank account seeded with Aadhaar and enabled for DBT. See Aadhaar bank seeding.
  • eKYC completed. See PM Kisan eKYC.

The PM Kisan homepage also says benefits are temporarily withheld in suspected exclusion cases, such as land acquired after 1 February 2019 or more than one family member taking the benefit, until physical verification. The Agriculture Minister told the Lok Sabha (reported by Outlook Business, March 2025) that farmers stopped for unmet conditions get the due installments once they comply. Frequently asked questions

PM Kisan ki agli kist kab aayegi?

The next kist is the 24th installment, for the August to November 2026 period. As of 16 October 2026 no official date has been announced (Business Standard, 13 October 2026). Watch PIB and the official @pmkisanofficial X account. Any website or video giving a fixed date before the government announces it is only guessing.

What is the PM Kisan 23rd installment date?

The 23rd installment was released on 20 June 2026 at Tarakeswar, Hooghly, West Bengal. PIB reported that about ₹18,880 crore reached about 9.44 crore farmers, including about 2.18 crore women. It is the latest installment as of October 2026 and covers the April to July 2026 period.

What was the PM Kisan 22nd installment date?

The 22nd installment (sometimes searched as "22th") was released on 13 March 2026 from Guwahati, Assam. According to PIB, more than ₹18,640 crore went to about 9.32 crore farmers, including 2.15 crore women. It covered the December 2025 to March 2026 period.

When did the 21st installment come?

The main release was on 19 November 2025 from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Farmers in flood-hit Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttarakhand got it early on 26 September 2025, and Jammu and Kashmir farmers on 7 October 2025, as reported by All India Radio.

How much money comes in one PM Kisan installment?

Each installment is ₹2,000 per eligible farmer family, paid by DBT into an Aadhaar-seeded bank account. There are three installments a year, so the total is ₹6,000. A Lok Sabha reply of 5 August 2025 said there was no proposal to increase this amount.

Why did my neighbour get the kist but I did not?

Usually one of the three must-haves is missing: land seeding, Aadhaar bank seeding with DBT enabled, or eKYC. Some records are also held for verification. Open Know Your Status on the official PM Kisan portal (pmkisan.gov.in) and see which item shows No. Once you fix it, due installments can be paid.
