Search for "mahadbt farmer registration" and you will find two different things mixed together. One is the Farmer Registry under Agristack, which gives you a Farmer ID linked to your Aadhaar and land. The other is MahaDBT, the Maharashtra government's portal where farmers apply for agriculture department subsidies. Since the 2025-26 season, MahaDBT relies on the Farmer ID (reported by Punekar News, July 2025), so the order matters.

KisanRi Guide is an independent information website, not a Maharashtra government office. We never ask for your Aadhaar, 7/12 or OTP. Use only the official .gov.in portals named below.

Part 1: Getting your Maharashtra Farmer ID

A Farmer ID is created by matching you with the state's digitised land records. The registry covers landholding farmers, including women, livestock and fisheries farmers (PIB, 24 March 2026). Maharashtra had issued 1,31,81,173 Farmer IDs by 19 March 2026, second only to Uttar Pradesh in the PIB state table, and it uses the ID for scheme delivery.

There are two main routes. The Centre funds village and Gram Panchayat camps (₹15,000 per camp to states), and farmers can also self-register on the state farmer registry portal. Help at a CSC is also reported, but not officially confirmed.

  1. Check if you already have one. The MahaDBT login page has a link, "Click here to know your Farmer ID". Many farmers were enrolled at camps and do not know it.
  2. Keep your papers ready. Guides commonly list Aadhaar, the mobile number linked to Aadhaar for OTP, your 7/12 (satbara) land record details and bank details. This list is reported but not officially confirmed, so ask at the camp.
  3. Register at a camp or on the portal. Go to the village camp, or open the Maharashtra Farmer Registry at mhfr.agristack.gov.in and follow the on-screen panjikaran (registration) steps.
  4. Make sure every land parcel is added. Your ID is only as good as the land linked to it.
  5. Keep the acknowledgement you receive, and note your Farmer ID once it is issued.
  6. If you get stuck, call the Maharashtra help desk 02025712712 or ask your local agriculture assistant or talathi office.

More on what the ID is and how it is used nationally is on our Farmer ID guide.

Aadhaar Based Login, Login With Username और Login With Farmer Id के विकल्प हैं।

Stay safe. Use only official addresses ending in gov.in (pmkisan.gov.in for PM Kisan). Registration, status checks and eKYC are free on the portal; a CSC may charge a small official fee for biometric eKYC. Never pay an agent to release an installment, never share an OTP with a caller, and ignore messages with links promising a bonus or a pending payment. This guide never asks for your Aadhaar, bank details or OTP.

Part 2: Using the MahaDBT farmer portal

The MahaDBT farmer portal is at mahadbt.maharashtra.gov.in/Farmer. On 16 October 2026 its main menu showed Main Home, How to Apply Online? and Benefit Schemes.

Login options shown on the portal

  • Applicant type: Individual Farmer or Farmer Group
  • Aadhaar Based Login
  • Login With Username
  • Login With Farmer Id
  • Help links: "Click here to know your Farmer ID" and "How to create your Farmer ID"

Reports you can view

  • Track Application Status: follow your own application
  • Fund Disbursed Beneficiary List: see who has been paid
  • Application Timestamp Report: see when applications were made
  • MahaDBT FCFS selection list and MahaDBT FCFS Waiting list: see selections in order

Read "How to Apply Online?" on the portal before you start. It is the official explanation for each scheme.

What changed from the 2025-26 season

Punekar News reported (July 2025) that from the 2025-26 season:

  • An Agristack Farmer ID became mandatory for agriculture scheme benefits on MahaDBT.
  • Farmers no longer need to upload the 7/12, 8A extract or Aadhaar documents, because the details come through the Farmer ID.
  • Selection moved to first come, first served.

In practice this means two things. Get your Farmer ID before the season's applications open, and apply early once a scheme opens, since order of application matters. Use the Application Timestamp Report and the FCFS lists to follow where you stand.

Farmer ID and PM Kisan in Maharashtra

Maharashtra is among the states where new PM Kisan applicants need a Farmer ID. GKToday reported (January 2025) that this started on 1 January 2025 in 10 states, including Maharashtra. PIB reported on 10 March 2026 that the Farmer ID is mandatory only for new PM Kisan registrations in the 19 states where Farmer Registry work has begun.

If you are already a PM Kisan labharthi in Maharashtra, you can also receive the state's Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi, which is paid only to PM Kisan beneficiaries. New farmers should see our PM Kisan registration guide after getting a Farmer ID, and check payment details on the PM Kisan status page.

Common problems and simple fixes

  • Name does not match between Aadhaar and 7/12: get it corrected with the revenue office before registering, since the ID is built by matching you to land records.
  • Mobile not linked to Aadhaar: OTP will not reach you. Update your Aadhaar mobile first.
  • Forgot Farmer ID: use "Click here to know your Farmer ID" on the MahaDBT login page.
  • Scheme shows waiting: check the MahaDBT FCFS Waiting list and Track Application Status.
  • Portal or login trouble: call MahaDBT on 022-61316429 between 9.45 am and 6.15 pm.

Never pay an agent who promises quick selection on MahaDBT, and never share an OTP. Other state registries are covered on our UP farmer registration page.
