In Uttar Pradesh, "farmer registration" can mean two different things. The first is the UP Farmer Registry, where you get a Farmer ID under AgriStack. The second is registration with the UP Agriculture Department for subsidies on seeds and equipment. Many farmers need both. This page explains each, in simple steps.

For the national picture, read our main Farmer ID guide. KisanRi Guide is independent: we do not register anyone, and we never ask for Aadhaar, Khatauni copies or OTPs.

How the UP Farmer Registry drive has moved

  • 5 November 2024: the UP Farmer Registry drive began (reported by Outlook, July 2026).
  • 19 March 2026: UP had 1,99,75,651 Farmer IDs, the highest of all states (PIB, 24 March 2026).
  • 1 April 2026: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed camps in every Gram Panchayat and ordered the Agriculture Department portal to be linked with the Farmer Registry by 1 May 2026 (All India Radio).
  • 7 April 2026: All India Radio reported a special campaign with camps at every Gram Sachivalaya, run with the Gram Pradhan, Panchayat Sachiv and Lekhpal.
  • 5 August 2026: 2,45,94,831 farmers registered out of a target of 2,88,70,495 (85.19%). UP was 10th nationally by percentage (Free Press Journal).

UP is first by number but not by share, because it has so many farmers. If you have not registered yet, you are among the remaining 15%.

Stay safe. Use only official addresses ending in gov.in (pmkisan.gov.in for PM Kisan). Registration, status checks and eKYC are free on the portal; a CSC may charge a small official fee for biometric eKYC. Never pay an agent to release an installment, never share an OTP with a caller, and ignore messages with links promising a bonus or a pending payment. This guide never asks for your Aadhaar, bank details or OTP.

How to register on the UP Farmer Registry

The national India.gov.in services directory lists "Apply for Farmer Registry ID, Uttar Pradesh" as a fully online service. The steps below are as reported by guides in April 2026; screen labels may change, so follow the live portal.

  1. Keep ready: Aadhaar card, the mobile number linked with Aadhaar, and your land details from the Khatauni or Khasra. Guides also mention bank details.
  2. Open the official UP Farmer Registry portal (upfr.agristack.gov.in). Check that the address ends in .gov.in.
  3. Choose the new farmer registration or create account option.
  4. Enter your Aadhaar number and click "Get OTP". Enter the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile.
  5. Your name and basic details fill in from Aadhaar. Add each land parcel by its Khasra number.
  6. e-Sign and submit. Note the Enrolment ID shown on screen.
  7. Your Farmer ID is issued after the state verifies your land record.

No smartphone? Go to the camp at your Gram Panchayat or Gram Sachivalaya, where the Lekhpal can help, or to a CSC. Do not pay an agent and never give your OTP to anyone who calls you.

UP farmer registration status check

Guides report a "Check Enrolment Status" page on the UP Farmer Registry portal, where you enter your enrolment details to see if your Farmer ID is approved. After approval, the ID can reportedly be downloaded from the farmer login.

Many people search for "UP farmer registration check by Aadhaar number". We could not confirm whether status can be searched by Aadhaar alone, so keep your Enrolment ID safe. If the status stays pending for long, the usual reason is a name or land mismatch between Aadhaar and the Khatauni. Meet your Lekhpal at the camp with your land papers.

Is the Farmer ID compulsory in UP?

For new PM Kisan registrations, yes. Uttar Pradesh was in the first group of 10 states where new PM Kisan applicants needed a Farmer ID from 1 January 2025 (reported by GKToday, January 2025). PIB said on 10 March 2026 that the rule applies in 19 states where farmer registry work has begun. See PM Kisan registration.

A third-party guide reported in April 2026 that UP made Farmer ID mandatory from 15 May 2026 for fertiliser subsidy, seeds and PM Kisan installments, with a deadline of 30 April 2026. This was reported but not officially confirmed, so do not panic, but do register early.

UP Agriculture Department registration and equipment booking

The Agriculture Department has its own system for subsidies. upagripardarshi.gov.in is reported to be the department's DBT farmer registration site, but we could not open it to confirm its steps.

For farm machinery, news reports (Rural Voice, 2026) say booking happens on agridarshan.up.gov.in through "Kisan Corner" and then "Yantra Booking Prarambh", on a first-come-first-served basis. A refundable security of ₹2,500 applies where the subsidy is ₹10,001 to ₹1 lakh, and ₹5,000 above ₹1 lakh. The 2026 window reported was open until 30 July 2026.

PM Kisan and other benefits for UP farmers

UP has the most PM Kisan farmers: PIB reported 2.34 crore beneficiaries in the 20th installment. Our research found no separate UP state cash top-up like the ones in some other states; compare them on our CM Kisan page. To keep your ₹2,000 kist coming, keep eKYC, land seeding and Aadhaar bank seeding complete, and track dates on our installment page.

Frequently asked questions

What is the UP farmer registration website?

The official UP Farmer Registry portal is upfr.agristack.gov.in, where farmers get a Farmer ID under AgriStack. It is listed on India.gov.in as a fully online service. For Agriculture Department subsidies there are separate department sites. Always check that the address ends in .gov.in before entering any detail.

How can I check UP farmer registration status?

Guides report a "Check Enrolment Status" page on the UP Farmer Registry portal, where you enter your enrolment details. Keep the Enrolment ID you got when you submitted. If the status stays pending, a name or land mismatch is the usual cause; meet your Lekhpal at the village camp with your land papers.

Can I check UP farmer registration by Aadhaar number?

We could not confirm that UP Farmer Registry status can be searched by Aadhaar number alone. Registration itself starts with your Aadhaar and an OTP to the Aadhaar-linked mobile. To be safe, keep your Enrolment ID, and never type your Aadhaar on any website that is not a .gov.in address.

What documents are needed for UP farmer registry?

Guides list your Aadhaar card, the mobile number linked to Aadhaar for OTP, land details from the Khatauni or Khasra, and bank details. The state matches your land with its digital land records before issuing the Farmer ID, so make sure the name on Aadhaar and the land record match.

What is UPFR AgriStack?

UPFR is the Uttar Pradesh Farmer Registry, the UP part of AgriStack, at upfr.agristack.gov.in. AgriStack is the national digital agriculture system under the Digital Agriculture Mission. Each state keeps its own registry, and UP had 1,99,75,651 Farmer IDs by 19 March 2026, the highest in India.

Is there a last date for UP farmer registration?

A third-party guide reported a deadline of 30 April 2026 and said the ID would be mandatory from 15 May 2026 for fertiliser, seeds and PM Kisan, but this was not officially confirmed. Registration continued after that date: UP reached 85.19% of its target by August 2026. Register as early as possible, especially if you plan to apply for PM Kisan.
