If you farm in Karnataka, you will hear officials ask for your "FID". FID is the Farmer ID given by FRUITS, the state's farmer database. Without it, many state benefits and payments cannot reach you. Farmers also search "FRUITS PM Kisan", because Karnataka's 2019 state top-up on PM Kisan was paid through FRUITS.

This is an independent guide, not a Karnataka government website. We explain what the official sources say, and we clearly mark the parts that come only from third-party guides. We never ask for your Aadhaar number.

What FRUITS and the FID are

The National e-Governance Division's India Stack Local directory describes FRUITS this way:

  • FRUITS means Farmer Registration & Unified beneficiary InformaTion System. It was built by the Centre for e-Governance (DPAR) with NIC.
  • Registration is Aadhaar based, with UIDAI authentication. The farmer's name is matched against Bhoomi land records.
  • A Farmer ID (FID) is mandatory for benefits.
  • Registration is one time, and the same FID works across departments: Agriculture, Horticulture, Revenue, Sericulture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, and Fisheries.
  • FRUITS is used by 28+ projects, including MSP procurement. DBT payments go to the farmer's Aadhaar-seeded bank account.

In short: one FID, one registration, and every department can use it to pay you.

FID, Farmer ID and PM Kisan number: not the same thing

Karnataka farmers can end up with three different numbers. Do not mix them up.

Number Who issues it What it is used for
FRUITS FID Government of Karnataka (FRUITS) State department benefits, MSP procurement, DBT
AgriStack Farmer ID State Farmer Registry under the central AgriStack programme New PM Kisan registrations in Farmer Registry states, and other central schemes
PM Kisan registration number PM Kisan portal Know Your Status and PM Kisan records

Karnataka had 60,75,905 AgriStack Farmer IDs by 19 March 2026 (PIB), and Angel One (February 2026) listed Karnataka among the 14 states where new PM Kisan applicants need a Farmer ID. Our sources do not say how the FRUITS FID and the AgriStack Farmer ID are connected in Karnataka, so ask your agriculture office which one a scheme needs. Read more on our AgriStack Farmer ID page.

Stay safe. Use only official addresses ending in gov.in (pmkisan.gov.in for PM Kisan). Registration, status checks and eKYC are free on the portal; a CSC may charge a small official fee for biometric eKYC. Never pay an agent to release an installment, never share an OTP with a caller, and ignore messages with links promising a bonus or a pending payment. This guide never asks for your Aadhaar, bank details or OTP.

How to get a FRUITS FID

Registration is one time and Aadhaar based. Grama One centres also register farmers, according to the NeGD listing. A simple route:

  1. Collect your Aadhaar card, your land details as shown in Bhoomi (survey number) and your bank passbook.
  2. Go to your nearest Grama One centre, or ask your agriculture office where registration is being done.
  3. Your Aadhaar is authenticated through UIDAI.
  4. Your name is matched with Bhoomi land records. If the spelling differs, get the land record or Aadhaar corrected first.
  5. Make sure your bank account is Aadhaar seeded, because DBT money goes there. See Aadhaar bank seeding.
  6. Note down the FID you are given and keep it with your land papers.

Do not pay anyone extra to "generate" an FID. Use only government centres.

FID number search by Aadhaar: what is reported

This is what most farmers search for. The official NeGD listing does not describe the search screens, so the details below come from a third-party guide (egovtschemes). They are reported but not officially confirmed.

  • A page on the FRUITS PM Kisan site is reported to show farmer details, including the FID, when you search by Aadhaar. The address widely reported for this is fruitspmk.karnataka.gov.in (the "GetDetailsByAadhaar" page); confirm it through the state agriculture department before entering details.
  • The main FRUITS site is reported to have a "Search User" option where you choose District, then Taluk, then Hobli, with Role "Farmer" and Department "Agriculture". The address widely reported for this is fruits.karnataka.gov.in; confirm it before use.
  • The same FRUITS PM Kisan site is reported to have a "Check Status" option using Aadhaar or PMKID.

If you are not sure a page is genuine, the safest way to find your FID is to ask at a Grama One centre or your agriculture office with your Aadhaar card in hand. Never type your Aadhaar into a site reached through a WhatsApp or SMS link.

Using your FID for PM Kisan

PM Kisan pays ₹6,000 a year in three kist of ₹2,000. For payment, three things must be Yes in your PM Kisan record: land seeding, Aadhaar bank seeding and eKYC. PM Kisan beneficiaries are identified by the state from land records, and FRUITS matches your name with Bhoomi land records. So keeping your name the same in Aadhaar and Bhoomi helps both records.

To see your PM Kisan payment, use "Know Your Status" on the official PM Kisan portal (pmkisan.gov.in). Our PM Kisan status guide explains each field, and PM Kisan eKYC covers OTP, CSC biometric and face authentication. If money has stopped, read payment not received.

Does Karnataka still pay a state top-up?

In 2019 the Karnataka government added ₹4,000 a year (2 x ₹2,000) on top of PM Kisan, paid through FRUITS (Deccan Herald, August 2019). That is an older rule from 2019. We could not confirm whether this top-up is being paid in 2025-26 or 2026, so do not assume you will get it. Ask your agriculture office. For states where a top-up is confirmed, see the CM Kisan comparison.

Who to contact

For FRUITS problems, the NeGD listing gives the FRUITS project management unit (PMU) contact: email pdfruits-ceg@karnataka.gov.in and phone 080-22209333. For PM Kisan questions, see PM Kisan helpline. Never share an OTP with a caller, and never pay an agent. This site will never ask for your Aadhaar, FID, bank details or OTP.

Frequently asked questions

How can I find my FRUITS FID number by Aadhaar?

Third-party guides report a page on the FRUITS PM Kisan site that shows farmer details, including the FID, when you search by Aadhaar. This is reported but not officially confirmed, so confirm the address through the state agriculture department first. The safest way is to visit a Grama One centre or agriculture office with your Aadhaar card.

What is FID in FRUITS PM Kisan?

FID is the Farmer ID given by FRUITS, Karnataka's Farmer Registration and Unified beneficiary Information System. Official NeGD material says the FID is mandatory for benefits and that one registration works across Agriculture, Horticulture, Revenue, Sericulture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries departments. Farmers search "FRUITS PM Kisan" because Karnataka's 2019 top-up on PM Kisan was paid through FRUITS.

Is the FRUITS FID the same as the AgriStack Farmer ID?

Not necessarily. The FRUITS FID is Karnataka's own farmer number. The AgriStack Farmer ID comes from the state Farmer Registry under the central AgriStack programme, and Karnataka had 60,75,905 of them by March 2026. Our sources do not explain how the two are linked, so ask your agriculture office which one a scheme asks for.

How do I get a new FID in Karnataka?

Registration is one time and Aadhaar based, with UIDAI authentication, and your name is matched against Bhoomi land records. Grama One centres register farmers. Take your Aadhaar, land details and bank passbook, make sure your bank account is Aadhaar seeded, and do not pay anyone extra for the registration.

Does Karnataka pay extra money with PM Kisan?

In 2019 Karnataka added ₹4,000 a year in two instalments on top of PM Kisan, paid through FRUITS. We could not confirm whether this top-up is still being paid now. PM Kisan itself pays ₹6,000 a year. Ask your agriculture office before counting on any state amount.

Whom do I contact for a FRUITS problem?

The NeGD listing gives the FRUITS project management unit contact as pdfruits-ceg@karnataka.gov.in and 080-22209333. You can also visit a Grama One centre or your agriculture office. For PM Kisan payment questions, use the PM Kisan helpline, and never share your OTP with anyone who calls you.
