In many villages, people first hear about PM Kisan from a neighbour who says "my name is in the list". The list they mean is the PM Kisan beneficiary list, or labharthi suchi. A PIB backgrounder of March 2026 says beneficiary lists are displayed at village level, and that farmers left out can seek inclusion through the grievance system.
This page explains how to view the village wise list on the official PM Kisan portal (pmkisan.gov.in), why it is only the first check and not the final one, and a clear ladder of steps if your name does not appear. KisanRi Guide is an independent guide and is not connected to the government. We do not hold any list ourselves.
List or status: which one do you need?
Farmers often mix up these two tools. They answer different questions.
| Village beneficiary list | Know Your Status | |
|---|---|---|
| Question it answers | Is my name among the beneficiaries of my village? | Is my own record complete and was my kist paid? |
| What you enter | Your location, chosen from drop-down boxes | Registration number and OTP |
| Private? | No, anyone can view a village | Yes, OTP goes to your eKYC mobile |
| Shows seeding and eKYC? | No | Yes, Land, Aadhaar bank and eKYC as Yes or No |
So use the list to see if you are in the scheme at all, and use the PM Kisan status check to see why a payment has or has not come.
How to open the village wise list
Independent guides describe a beneficiary list option in the farmers section of pmkisan.gov.in. We could not confirm the exact button names on the live portal, so look for the option that mentions the beneficiary list rather than relying on one fixed label.
- Type pmkisan.gov.in in your browser yourself. Do not use a forwarded link.
- On the homepage, look in the farmers section for the option about the beneficiary list.
- Choose your State, then District, Sub-District (tehsil), Block and Village from the drop-down boxes.
- Press the button that brings up the report for that village.
- Scroll or use your phone's "find in page" option to search for your name. Try the spelling used in your land record as well as the spelling in your Aadhaar.
Pick the village where your registered land record is. If your family has land in more than one village, check each one.
What the list can and cannot tell you
A name in the list is good news, but it is not a guarantee of payment. Every payment still needs three things done: land seeding, an Aadhaar-seeded bank account and eKYC (Lok Sabha answer, 4 February 2025). The list does not show these.
- Name present, money coming: all is well.
- Name present, money stopped: check your status. One of the three checks may be No, or the payment may be temporarily withheld for verification.
- Name spelt differently: a PIB release of 10 March 2026 says the grievance mechanism covers land and name mismatches. Raise it rather than registering again.
- Name absent: follow the ladder below before you assume you are out.
Name not in the PM Kisan list? Follow this ladder
- Recheck the village. A wrong block or sub-district is the most common reason for a "missing" name.
- Find your registration number. On the Know Your Status page, use the "Know Your Registration No." link with your mobile number or Aadhaar and an OTP. If a number appears, you are registered, so check your status with it.
- If you registered yourself or through a CSC, look for the option on the portal that shows the status of self-registered farmers. Guides report that new applications show as pending for approval at State or District level until officials verify them.
- If no registration exists, apply as a new farmer. A PIB release of 10 March 2026 says a Farmer ID is mandatory for new PM-KISAN registrations in the 19 states where farmer registry work has started. See our Farmer ID guide and registration guide.
- If you think you were left out wrongly, raise a grievance through the portal or visit your Block or Tehsil office. Details are on our helpline and grievance page.
Some names will never be in the list
Before raising a complaint, make sure your family is eligible. Eligible families are landholding farmer families with cultivable land in their names, identified by the States from land records (PIB, November 2025). A Lok Sabha answer of 4 February 2025 adds that land must have been owned on or before 1 February 2019, except where it passed by succession after the owner's death.
The PIB press deck of 24 February 2020 lists these exclusions, among others:
- All institutional landholders.
- Families where a member holds or held a constitutional post, or is or was a Minister, MP, MLA, MLC, Mayor of a Municipal Corporation or Chairperson of a District Panchayat.
- Serving or retired government and PSE officers and employees (Multi Tasking Staff, Class IV and Group D are not excluded).
- Retired pensioners with a monthly pension of ₹10,000 or more (MTS, Class IV and Group D not excluded).
- Anyone who paid income tax in the last assessment year.
- Registered doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants and architects in practice.
The full rules are on our PM Kisan eligibility page.
When a name is removed or held back
The portal homepage notice says benefits are temporarily withheld in suspected exclusion cases until physical verification. Two examples it gives are land acquired after 1 February 2019 and more than one member of the same family receiving the benefit. Records are also cross-checked with Aadhaar, PFMS and Income Tax data (Lok Sabha, February 2025). States recover money paid to ineligible people: ₹416.75 crore had been recovered by 2 December 2025, according to PIB backgrounders of 2026.
If a family member is wrongly getting the benefit, the portal offers voluntary surrender, and a surrender can be revoked online through the official "Surrender Revocation of PM-KISAN Benefits" page.
Beware of fake beneficiary list sites
Around every kist, websites and social media posts claim to have a "new PM Kisan list" as a PDF, and some agents ask for money to add names. There is no such shortcut. Names are added only after State verification of land records. View the list only on pmkisan.gov.in, use only .gov.in addresses, and never pay an agent or share your Aadhaar, bank details or OTP to get your name added.
Frequently asked questions
How do I see the PM Kisan beneficiary list village wise?
Open pmkisan.gov.in by typing the address yourself. In the farmers section, choose the beneficiary list option, then select your state, district, sub-district, block and village. The report for that village appears on screen. Search it for your name using both your land record spelling and your Aadhaar spelling.
Can I do a PM Kisan status check with the name list?
The name list only tells you whether you appear among your village's beneficiaries. It does not show your eKYC, land seeding or Aadhaar bank seeding, or whether a particular kist was paid. For that you need the Know Your Status page, which works with your registration number and an OTP on your eKYC mobile.
My name is in the PM Kisan list but I did not get money. Why?
Being in the list is not enough. Payment needs land seeding, an Aadhaar-seeded bank account with DBT and completed eKYC, all showing Yes in your status. Your payment may also be temporarily withheld for physical verification, for example if land was bought after 1 February 2019. Check your status first, then fix the line that shows No.
Is there a new PM Kisan list PDF for 2026?
Be careful with any PDF list shared on WhatsApp or unknown websites. The PIB says beneficiary lists are displayed at village level, and the official place to view them is pmkisan.gov.in. A forwarded file may be old, edited or a trap to collect your details. Always check your own village on the official portal.
Can an agent add my name to the PM Kisan beneficiary list?
No. Names come from State verification of land records, not from agents. If you are eligible but missing, register through the official portal or a CSC, or raise a grievance through the portal or your Block or Tehsil office. Never pay anyone to add a name, and never share your OTP.
Why was my father's name removed from the PM Kisan list?
Records are cross-checked with Aadhaar, PFMS and Income Tax data, and the portal says suspected exclusion cases are held back until physical verification. Check his status and raise a grievance if it looks wrong. If the landowner has died, the 1 February 2019 cut-off does not apply to land passed by succession, so heirs can register with the updated record.
