Kisan Apps and Helplines: Official Apps and Numbers for Farmers

Official kisan apps and chatbots

1. PM-KISAN mobile app

Made by NIC for the Agriculture Ministry. PIB says the app was first launched in 2020. The face authentication version was launched on 22 June 2023 by the then Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. NIC lists its features as:

• self-registration of new farmers;
• Know Your Status;
• land, Aadhaar bank seeding and eKYC status;
• face authentication eKYC, without an Aadhaar OTP or fingerprint.

PIB (19 November 2025) adds that one farmer can do face eKYC for up to 100 neighbours in the app, and state officials for up to 500 farmers each. Full steps are on our PM Kisan app page.

2. Aadhaar Face RD app

The official PM-KISAN eKYC note says to install the "Aadhaar Face RD" app from Google Play along with the PM-KISAN app. It is a helper app: it scans the face, while the PM-KISAN app does the eKYC.

3. Kisan-eMitra chatbot

Not an app to install. It is an AI voice chatbot linked from the PM Kisan homepage ("Need Help? Ask Kisan-eMitra PMKisan Chatbot"). PIB says it was launched in September 2023, runs 24x7 in 11 languages, and had resolved 95 lakh+ queries from 53 lakh farmers by 15 July 2025.

4. Bharat-VISTAAR (Bharati AI chatbot)

The PM Kisan homepage now has a "Bharati Bharat Vistaar" chatbot link. News reports (February 2026) say it is an AI advisory platform announced in Budget 2026-27, covering about 10 schemes including PM Kisan, in Hindi and English in Phase 1, and reachable through 155261. These details are reported, not officially confirmed.

Install the PM-KISAN app and do face eKYC

These steps follow the official PM-KISAN note on eKYC modes:

1. Open Google Play on an Android phone.
2. Install the PM-KISAN app. Check the developer before installing; it should be the government (NIC), not a private name.
3. Install the "Aadhaar Face RD" app too.
4. Open PM-KISAN and log in with your PM-KISAN registered mobile number.
5. On the beneficiary status screen, if eKYC shows "No", tap eKYC.
6. Enter your Aadhaar number, give consent and scan your face in good light.
7. Wait 24 hours, then check that eKYC status shows Yes.

If face scan keeps failing, the other two ways are OTP eKYC on the portal and biometric eKYC at a CSC (official fee ₹15). See PM Kisan eKYC.

Kisan helpline numbers (national and state)

Kisan Call Centre vs PM Kisan helpline

Many news stories print 1800-180-1551 under the heading "PM Kisan helpline". It is actually the Kisan Call Centre number. Use it for farming questions. For PM Kisan money, eKYC or registration problems, 155261 and 1800-115-526 are the right lines. Calling the correct number first saves time.

State portals that work like apps

Several states run their own websites for farmer schemes. These are useful, but they are websites, not apps:

• Maharashtra: MahaDBT farmer portal, with Aadhaar based login and "Login With Farmer Id". See Maharashtra farmer registration.
• Karnataka: FRUITS, where every farmer gets an FID. See Karnataka FRUITS FID.
• Rajasthan: Raj Kisan Sathi (rajkisan.rajasthan.gov.in) is the Agriculture Department portal for department scheme applications. It is not the payment status page for the state Kisan Samman Nidhi.
• All India: the Kisan Rin Portal (fasalrin.gov.in) is mainly used by banks for KCC interest subvention claims. Farmers cannot apply for a KCC there. See Kisan Rin Portal.
• CSC locator: the official eKYC note gives locator.csccloud.in to find the nearest Common Service Centre.

Apps we could not verify

• Kisan Suvidha app: many farmers search for it, but our checked sources give no verified details about it. So we do not describe its features here.
• "MP Kisan App": we could not verify an official app by this name.
• Play Store listing name: third-party sites call the PM Kisan app "PMKISAN GoI". We could not confirm this, so go by the developer name, not only the title.

Safety rules for any kisan app: install only from the official store, check the developer is a government body, use only official .gov.in addresses, never pay for registration through an app, and never share an OTP with a caller.
